I’ve visited this post office a couple of times, and unfortunately, my experiences haven’t been great. The parking situation is a major issue. The lot is tiny, and there’s rarely any available space, so you have to circle the surrounding blocks to find street parking. Once inside, the space feels very large but underutilized, and the atmosphere is quite drab—nothing about it feels welcoming. There are a lot of PO boxes that seem available for rent, but the customer service area is relatively small. The service is also typically very slow, as there’s usually only one person working the counter, and it’s behind thick glass, which I assume is there for safety reasons given the neighborhood. They do have a small display area for shipping supplies, but overall, the experience is underwhelming. It’s unfortunate because this post office has potential, but the overall lack of convenience, along with the less-than-ideal atmosphere, makes it hard to recommend.

Arrived at 2:45, they were closed for lunch until 3:30 (and as we waited we could hear the loud TV inside somewhere). If the unit is short staffed they should add more people to their team. As I waited, more than 10 people came and went. Main door is really dirty, but the inside of the unit is clean.

I visited around 330 on a Tuesday and I had no issues and there was no line. Fast and easy service.

Unfortunately this place is less than a block from my house so it’s the most convenient. Every time I have to come here I dread it because I know that I’ll be here for at least half an hour. There is only one person working here and even though she is kind, she takes her time, causing the line to back up. If you have the option to go to another Post Office, do it, otherwise prepare to wait.

I’m writing to file a formal complaint regarding an incident that occurred at the Georgia ave post office this morning November 25th 2025 around 10am . When I arrived, there was no customer, so I approached the representative at the counter and told her I wanted to send a box. When she asked how I wanted to send it, I replied “ normal “ and she immediately became rude and disrespectful in both her words and tone. I then clarified that I wanted 2-3 business day option, yet her attitude continued to be unprofessional. At one point stepped out briefly (2min) to move my car after someone notified me that I was parked in the wrong spot. When I came, she was assisting another customer- a white woman - whom she also made cry. I witnessed the entire interaction . I told that customer I had experienced the same rude behavior and that perhaps the representative was having a bad day. After that customer left, the employee refused to help me entirely. I began recording on my phone due to how unacceptable the situation had become. Once she realized I was recording, she told me she would not serve me and instructed me to go somewhere else. She continued helping everyone else but me. I waited approximately 20 min before leaving and going to the 14th and T st location instead. I have never experienced anything like this in my life. This level of hostility, selective treatment, and refusal of service is completely unacceptable, especially from public-facing employee . I strongly believe that this representative should not be working in customer service. I request that post office review this matter seriously, look into the employee’s conduct, and take appropriate action to ensure no other customer are treated this way. Sincerely,
