The Old Post Office

We learned about the Old Post Office while taking a boat tour the previous day (thank you Architecture.org). It’s mighty impressive inside and the photos don’t quite capture the scale and size of it. There’s plenty of Art Deco to gaze at. If you’re arriving on a bicycle you’ll find a place to lock them up just out front. Well worth stopping by if you’re in the area.

If you can't get past the security to view upstairs.... These pictures will show you that it is one amazingly beautiful place. Private parties and staff get to enjoy the lovely roof top deck that is filled with so much foliage and plenty of balcony seating. There are several banquet locations through the floors that space out full round bars. Lobby area when you first walk in had a Walgreens and a few restaurants. Nice tour spot!

Open to the public historical building not far from downtown. Ideal for casual photo shoots and meetings. The food court inside is amazing with plenty healthy options and a lot of indoor and outdoor seating.

Wow!!! I visited the second floor for a seminar…. Wow!!!! Inviting areas to sit and chat, activities in second floor includes Bocce Ball and pool table, fitness center, boxing ring!!!

What’s the old post office like? 2.5 million square feet! That’s 1.38 million bigger than the Air Force museum in Dayton Ohio (1,120,000 square feet). It’s just office space in there on the Harrison street side. To get an entrance to the old post office, you have to enter through the Van Buren St. side. There’s a nice food hall there. And there’s also a nice outdoor space where the old post office used to be. Across the street from this on the Harrison Street side is the actual post office that has amazing late hours seven days a week. But they are under construction for a long time and they still don’t have the free parking lot that they normally used to have.
