Busy during lunch hour. Big open space. I had a sale I need to ship and want to get a receipt so I waited on queue to get to a counter. When I got there she told me that I could use the kiosks for it. I didn’t know but glad to. I asked her what option to choose/use, she said “pre-packaged” something.

Always super rude at this location, and Chicago in general has major USPS theft issues at the distribution hub. I'm always getting packages stolen at the Chicago Distribution Center. USPS will struggle and slow-roll refunds, and they just let massive theft happen. Use a different carrier if it's important! They have absolutely no standards.

This is an update to my original 1-star post. I've been here several times in the past 2 years and there are more tellers and the line isn't so bad now. I usually have to wait 5 minutes or so. Also, they have self service machines if you don't want to wait in line. I normally buy my postage online then take the parcel to the post office so I can get a receipt. The teller said I don't have to wait in line for that anymore. The self-service machines give receipts for postage you already purchased online. Just get the receipt then drop it in the box behind the counter. Fast and easy. 20 people in line. Only one teller working. Two other employees are just having a personal conversation. Once I made it to the window the teller was polite and apologized for the wait. She said the other employees weren't trained to work the window. Recession or not, a facility this big (and possibly the only one left downtown that hasn't closed permanently) really needs more than 1 teller.

Every time I come to this USPS, a specific security guard will stand behind be as I'm buying postage and telling me I'll need to pay. Is so incredibly uncomfortable and this guard never seems to question anyone else about the postage their buying let alone stand behind them. He is incredibly unhelpful and demeaning, it makes me never want to come to this location, to my knowledge he works Friday afternoons.

Met a very rude staff, yelling at me. Just want to explain before things moving on, she kept saying “I won’t listen to you.” Other staffs met today are nice and friendly, except that person. Not a good experience 🥲
