S “Rocket Saw” saw a month ago

I rewrote it to be clearer, more organized, and firm while keeping the frustration and details intact: So, I got up early this morning trying to find a post office that provides fingerprinting services. I called the post office, and about 30 minutes later they called me back and told me which branch to go to — the Florida Avenue location. I get there, only to be told they do not do fingerprinting. While I was there, I asked which branch does. The employee didn’t know, and the colleague next to him became unnecessarily aggressive. I simply said I didn’t want to continue speaking with him because he was getting loud for no reason. The other postal worker mostly stared at me, so I asked if he could at least check with someone in the back to find out which branch handles fingerprinting services. After what seemed like a chore, he returned and said even his supervisor didn’t know, then handed me a list of post office locations. I asked, “Am I supposed to just go to each one of these?” and slid the list back. At that point, I decided to go to the Bessie Coleman post office near the airport since they handle immigration and passport services. Instantly, they knew which branch provides fingerprinting: North Dale/Mabry. I waited in line there and was told I needed a request for fingerprints. I asked, “A request from who?” The clerk said she didn’t know, but that people usually come in with one. I asked whether I was supposed to get that from the sheriff’s office. Thankfully, a gentleman standing in line overheard and explained the actual process: you go to the FBI website, pay the $18 fee, receive a barcode, and then return to complete the fingerprinting. By this time, it was around 2:15 p.m. — and I had started this process at 8:30 that morning. Calling around and trying to look online turned out to be mostly useless. Most disappointing of all was the experience at the Florida Avenue/Spring Hill branch. The atmosphere felt unnecessarily confrontational and hostile when I was simply trying to get basic information. Completely avoidable.

It’s the same thing every time and nobody gives you an answer. They delivered my package but didn't leave the key to open the locker where they put it…If I provide all the order information and they don't know who delivered it, the most logical thing to do is to tell the delivery person that they didn't leave the key."

This USPS location at 11800 N Florida Ave is hands down one of the most unresponsive and unprofessional post offices I have ever dealt with. We are currently missing an urgent package (tracking shows delivered on 2/4), yet we were never notified, never received a delivery attempt, and have no mailbox where it could have been placed. When we discovered through tracking that it was marked delivered, we began calling the office — multiple times, at different hours during business days. No one answers the phone. Ever. We sent someone in person, and staff were unable to provide answers. We were told someone would “look into it” and call us back. No follow-up. No accountability. No urgency. This is not the first issue we’ve had with this branch. In a previous situation involving a missing package, we were told that the USF Post Office van picked up the mail — which was later confirmed by USF to be completely false. There was no system update, no documentation, and no explanation. We are the USF Botanical Gardens, and missing deliveries directly impact our operations. It is unacceptable that a federal postal facility can: Mark packages delivered with no proof. Provide no notification. Never answer the phone. Fail to follow up. Give inconsistent or inaccurate information. At this point, there is zero confidence in the reliability of this location. If you have important mail, I strongly recommend avoiding this branch if at all possible. Completely unacceptable service.

Worst post office possible. Everyone there looks like they don’t even wanna deal with your issues and then just stare at you when you put the package down and force me to ask if the package is good and then told it’s not I need a new label. I ask her if she can print me one and she says no gotta go to staples for that and mind you this is a prepaid return label already in their system which I’ve seen them do this for others. No one wants to help anyone here at this place.

I meant to leave this review around the week of Christmas when it happened. I do not remember the name of the fantastic guy who gave me EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE, but he was tall, with glasses, nails done super cute, and had some sort of accent. He seemed like the only one there who wanted to do his job and help people especially around the holidays. I had a complicated situation of trying to pick up a package, and he did everything he could to help me, I ended up receiving it that day like I needed! THANK YOU kind USPS worker who made my holidays even better and even comforted me when I cried because I was so stressed about getting the package in time for my trip. You are awesome!
