This location is more of a federal building and Court ruling with City and potentially County (?unsure) practices occurring within the building.. it does serve as a usps service still (I could only imagine in its prime because it's absolutely beautiful and ppl dont use postage as they use to) but there was only one person working which is understandable for the demand and people there. they do have historical standpoints in old windows which I thought was a neat deal.. it is a federally controlled building so you will have to go through security screening before entering the premises I would really like to see a potential courtroom open to the public similar to Austin I think this would really boost tourism and add one more potential stop to the historical tour of satx...guards were friendly with nik-nack facts about the building etc they were kind ..I took bare min items bc its like tsa ...none the less it was a great experience to see history..I also send off a card just to say I did from that location...worth the wait 😀

Went Monday at 1:00 and the system was down. Went Tuesday at 1:30 and the window is open but nobody was around. Left after 20 minutes. Went today (Wednesday) at 1:20 and was told that the single agent on duty left for a medical appointment. So I guess this post office isn’t always open during posted hours.

Good. Based on comments below, i didnt bring my belongings due to security check. It is interesting to visit here in a great building. And everyone was nice and kind.

Grand building at the heart of San Antonio, Tx. Its architecture is of the old 19th century which brings a royal essence to the building. Its next to the Alamo so tourists can take photos of this or go inside and check it out. Overall it adds beauty to the tourist spot in San Antonio and I loved it!

Useless. Exasperating. Rude. USPS failed (in multiple ways) to properly deliver/handle an item sent by certified mail that was marked restricted delivery (which is supposed to require that signature be provided, signed by ONLY the person that an item is addressed to or that person's authorized agent). USPS shows mailer signed by a completely different person in a completely different city. Being here in San Antonio, I stopped at this post office to take the next steps, i.e. probably file a report to get the ball rolling and hopefully the issue eventually corrected. The employee here wanted me to note her confusion trying to wrap her head around the idea of why I was even there, as if she couldn't grasp why a bungled delivery of certified mail might be an issue and why a person might show up at the post office in the city they're in right now (and not one of the other two cities, either the one 3 hours away where I don't live and where it was supposed to have been delivered to, or another city 2 hours away that the item was incorrectly delivered to—neither one of which I am in at the time that this conversation is happening at 4:00 PM this Friday afternoon, nor do I have any interested in visiting). Incredible rudeness/condescenscion throughout the interaction, and employee did *nothing* to get the ball rolling on resolution. Breathtaking lack of self-awareness by someone so stupefied by such a simple concept.
